Renee Boley, K3 Teacher, Renee Boley has devoted her life to teaching children. She taught her two children through 6th grade before becoming a preschool teacher and aide both at Houston Academy and Covenant United Methodist Church. She has been married to her husband Darrell for 30 years. They have attended Bethel Baptist Church for 25 years. Her hobbies include running, riding mountain bikes, and playing disc golf. She does all things as unto the Lord.
Amanda Carter, , 2nd grade, Amanda Carter is a graduate from Troy University, Dothan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Amanda has since then taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. She is married to Tommy Carter and has three girls. They attend Watermark Church. She feels honored to be a part of what God has ordained for this school year.
Gail Christiansen, K4 Teacher, Gail Christiansen is excited to be joining BCA as the K4 Teacher. She is a resident of Dothan, and has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 25 years. She graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Parent/Child Development. She has been married to her husband, Mike, for 34 years and has two daughters, Jessica and Caroline
Dawn Etress, 1st Grade, Dawn Etress recently retired after teaching 29 years in the public school system. She is a graduate of Cottonwood High School and Troy University. She holds a Master’s degree in elementary education. She has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 35 years and states she is so excited to continue her passion for teaching at Bethel Christian Academy. She has two sons, Josh and Jody, two daughters in law, and two grandchildren.
Amanda Ford, Upper School Biblical Studies and Girls PE, Mandi Ford lives in Dothan, Alabama with her husband Anthony and fur baby, Allie. They have two grown children that Mandi gained when they married. Mrs. Ford has a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from the Baptist College of Florida. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Education at Troy University. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church and looks forward to serving the Lord and students this year.
Michele Holliman, 6th Grade, Michele Holliman is very excited to be at Bethel Christian Academy as the 6th grade teacher. She is a long time resident of Dothan and a graduate of Dothan High School. She has been married to her husband, Robert, for 24 years and they have two children, Grace and Stephen. In 1994, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associates in Computer Science and after taking several years off to start a family, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education K-8th, emphasis in Math. She is looking forward to seeing how God is going to work this year.
Terri Kelly, Latin I, 7th/8th Grade History, 1st – 9th Grade Art, Terri Kelly retired from the public school system in 2013 after teaching for 30 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Troy University in Elementary Education. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she enjoys singing in the choir and working with VBS. She enjoys serving God as a teacher at Bethel Christian Academy
Stefanie King, Upper School Science, Stefanie King has been a science teacher since 2001 to homeschool and private school students. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Foods from Auburn University. Stefanie has been married to Howard King for over 30 years, and they have lived in Dothan since 2010. They attend Logos Baptist Church. Mrs. King is thrilled to be a teacher at Bethel Christian Academy and tell students about God’s amazing creation.
Susan McClenney, 4th and 5th Grade, Susan McClenney is retired from public education after teaching for over 30 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Troy University in Elementary Education and has been married to her husband Joe for 44 years. They have 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren. Mrs. McClenney is excited to meet the students and begin her third year teaching at Bethel Christian Academy. She lives in Headland, Alabama and is attending Newville Baptist Church while her husband serves as the pianist.
Emily Pettis, 3rd Grade, Emily Pettis is excited to be a part of Bethel Christian Academy as the 3rd grade teacher. She is a Dothan native and a graduate of Dothan High and Troy University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has previous experience teaching 2nd – 5th grades. She has been married for 16 years to her husband, Jeffrey and has two wonderful children. She and her family attend Watermark Church.
Susie Robbins, Receptionist, Lunch Manager. Susie Robbins retired as the Administrative Assistant to several of Houston County’s Probate Judges for over 23 years and other county offices for a total of 28 years with Houston County. She is excited to see the former students and looking forward to meeting the new students. Most of all she is looking forward to seeing what God has planned for Bethel Christian Academy this year!
Cassadi Roper, Kindergarten, Cassadi Roper is a 2014 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a major in Early Childhood Development. She is married to Bradley and they have two children, Ellorie and Amoson. They are members of Ridgecrest where Bradley serves on staff. She is excited and feels blessed to be teaching at Bethel Christian Academy and looks forward to seeing God work in the lives of the students and families.
Hope Taylor, Upper School Math, Hope Taylor is a life-long resident of Houston County and for 28 years she taught high school math in the public school system. She has a Master’s Degree from Troy University. She and her husband, Rollins, have two sons, two daughters in law and 1 grandson. She has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for more than 40 years and serves as the church pianist and the ministry assistant to the Minister of Music.
Grace Ann Vaughan, Upper School Language Arts, Music Grades 1-7, Grace Ann Vaughan graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Secondary Education in 2016. She lives in Headland with her husband Mitchell and son Everett. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Headland. She began teaching at BCA in January of 2019.
Mitchell Vaughan, Upper School History, Bible, Logic, and PE, Mitchell Vaughan is a 2016 graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministries with a Physical Education emphasis. Mitchell is a native of Asheboro, NC and moved to the Dothan area in 2018. Mitchell lives in Headland with his wife Grace Ann, and son Everett and is a member of First Baptist Church, Headland
Carly Williams, Lower School P.E., Preschool Aide, Carly Williams is thrilled to join the BCA Family as the Lower School P.E. Teacher and Preschool Aide. She feels blessed to be able to teach biblical stewardship in the lives of her students. This will be her 6th year as a P.E. Teacher and Volleyball Coach. Carly has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Applied Social Science. For the past 10 years she has worked in Christian schools in many capacities, as a Teacher’s Aide, Coach, P.E. Teacher, and Bus Driver. Carly is a Dothan native. She has been married to her husband for 21 years. They have two children Don (18) and Gracie (16). She has been a member of Harvest Church for 22 years.
Alyssa Wilson, Upper School Science, Alyssa Wilson has lived in Dothan since 2015 with her husband Daniel and their two girls, Maggie and McKenzie. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a double major in health education and athletic training. She has worked as a certified athletic trainer, mental health case manager and a public school teacher. She and her family are members of Bethel Baptist Church and are excited to be part of God’s work at Bethel Christian Academy..
April Wilson, BCA Administrator, Director of Preschool/Children’s Ministries, has been part of the Bethel Baptist Church staff for the past 7 years. A B.S. in Elementary Education from Troy University has allowed April to exercise her love of children and education in the Public and Christian school systems for 20 years. April is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She serves as the administrator for BCA. She and her husband have been members of Bethel for 16 years and have 3 beautiful daughters.
Donna Skinner, Principal, retired in 2015 after teaching 38 years in the public school system. Mrs. Skinner has a B.S. in elementary education from Auburn University and a master’s degree from Troy University. She and her husband Kent live in Dothan and have two grown children and four grandchildren. She is a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church where she has been teaching children’s Sunday School and serving as its Director for over 30 years. She feels blessed to be a part of BCA, something that has been a vision of her church for many years.
Janet Hunter, Business Administrator, retired from the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources in 2015 after working for 33 years as a social worker and supervisor of the Department’s financial programs. She has a B.S. degree in Business Finance from Auburn University. She and her husband Phillip live in Cowarts, Alabama and have been active members of Bethel for 32 years where they have been teaching children’s Sunday School for 27 years. They have two children and one granddaughter. Mrs. Hunter is excited to be part of God’s work at Bethel Christian Academy.
