Dawn Etress, 1st and 2nd Grade, Dawn Etress recently retired after teaching 29 years in the public school system. She is a graduate of Cottonwood High School and Troy University. She holds a Master’s degree in elementary education. She has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 34 years and states she is so excited to continue her passion for teaching at Bethel Christian Academy. She has two sons, Josh and Jody, one daughter in law and a future daughter in law and two grandchildren.
Amanda Ford, 7th and 8th Grade Biblical Studies and Girls PE, Mandi Ford lives in Dothan, Alabama with her husband Anthony and fur baby, Allie. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from the Baptist College of Florida. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church and looks forward to teaching 7th and 8th graders this fall.
Ashlyn Hubbard, K4, Ashlyn Hubbard is a graduate of the University of South Alabama in Mobile with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Hubbard is looking forward to many “firsts” this year with the first K4 class at Bethel Christian Academy as well as the first K4 teacher. She is engaged to Landon Jones and they will marry in April, 2018. She is a member of Cornerstone Church in Dothan, Al.
Terri Kelly, 7th and 8th Grade Language Arts and Latin, Terri Kelly retired from the public school system in 2013 after teaching for 30 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Troy University in Elementary Education. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she enjoys singing in the choir and working with VBS. She looks forward to serving God as a teacher at Bethel Christian Academy.
Susan McClenney, 5th and 6th Grade, Susan McClenney retired from public education after teaching for over 26 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Troy University in Elementary Education and has been married to her husband Joe for 42 years. She has 5 adult children, 4 of them are married, and 4 grandchildren. She is excited to meet the students and begin teaching at Bethel Christian Academy. She lives in Headland, Alabama and is attending Newville Baptist Church while her husband serves as the pianist.
Sarah Parker, 7th and 8th Grade History, Sarah Parker is a graduate of Auburn University Montgomery with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Growing up, Sarah moved frequently while her father served in the Air Force. She and her husband Adam reside in Dothan with their son, John Wallace and dog, Teddy. They are members of Selma Baptist Church. Sarah looks forward to performing God’s work at Bethel Christian Academy.
Emily Pettis, 3rd and 4th Grade, Emily Pettis is excited to be joining Bethel Christian Academy as the 3rd and 4th grade teacher. She is a Dothan native and a graduate of Dothan High and Troy University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has previous experience teaching 2nd, 4th and 5th grades. She has been married for 14 years to her husband, Jeffrey and has two wonderful children. She and her family attend Bethel Baptist Church.
Cassidi Roper, Kindergarten, Cassadi Roper is a 2014 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a major in Early Childhood Development. She is married to Bradley and they have a daughter, Ellorie are members of Watermark Church in Ashford where Bradley serves on the church staff. She is excited and feels blessed to be teaching at Bethel Christian Academy and looks forward to seeing God work in the lives of the students and families.
Hope Taylor, 7th and 8th Grade Math, Hope Taylor is a life-long resident of Houston County and for 28 years she taught high school math in the public school system. She has a Master’s Degree from Troy University. She and her husband, Rollins, have two sons and two daughters in law. She has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 41 years and serves as the church pianist and the ministry assistant to the Minister of Music.
Alyssa Wilson, 7th and 8th Grade Science, Alyssa Wilson has lived in Dothan since 2015 with her husband Daniel and their two girls, Maggie and McKenzie. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a double major in health education and athletic training. She has worked as a certified athletic trainer, mental health case manager and a public school teacher. She and her family are members of Bethel Baptist Church and looks forward to being part of God’s work at Bethel Christian Academy.
